Background:
As Art Director for the McDonald's account at Davis Elen Advertising, I lead concept development and visual execution across various 360 campaigns. We deliver high-impact advertisements for regional and national initiatives across digital, broadcast, print, and in-store channels.
COSMC'S BEVERAGE TOUR
PROBLEM: In a world where trendy coffee shops reign supreme, young people are not drinking McDonald's Iced Coffee.
So McDonald's had this whole side project called CosMc's — a separate, drive-thru-only beverage concept they launched in late 2023. The menu was all about beverage exploration, with bold and unexpected flavor combos, vibrant colors, and functional boosts — think Sour Cherry Energy Slush, Tropical Spiceade, and S'mores Cold Brew, plus fun add-ons like popping boba, flavor syrups, and even energy or Vitamin C shots.
But after running a handful of locations, McDonald's shut down all five CosMc's concept stores about a year after opening them. Rather than just calling it a loss, though, they took everything they learned and brought it back to the mothership.
Our concept is to launch awareness for those beverages with a cross-country tour.
